Our Curriculum
At Napoleon, we are currently realigning our curriculum to better meet the state standards and benchmarks presented by the state of Michigan. This does not change anything for 8th grade students. In the 2015-16 School year, the 7th grade students will be studying the Western Hemisphere, as will the 6th graders. In the 2016-17 school year the curriculum will reflect the outline below
6th Grade Western Hemisphere Studies
This course focuses on Human Migration to the western world, Classical and Modern Europe, and a complete study of North and South America. |
7th Grade Eastern Hemisphere Studies
This course focuses on Human Beginnings in Africa and the development of classical civilizations in the East. Focusing on Africa and Asia, there is also heavy emphasis on world cultures and religions. |
8th Grade US History and Government
This course covers United States history beginning with the Colonization of the Americas through reconstruction after the civil war. There is also an emphasis on the US Constitution and government. |
Our Social Studies Educators
